Picnic on the Moon!
In Primary 1, our WAU activities have been based on the story “Whatever Next!” by Jill Murphy.
As part of our topic work activities, Miss Montgomery and Mrs Neilly decided to take Primary 1 on a little trip to the moon this morning. We went to the assembly hall where we did some astronaut training. Following this, we played a game of hide and seek with our boarding passes, where we had to try and find the ticket with our own name on it. We were so good at recognising our names! π©ππ¨πππΌππΌ
Afterwards, it was time to board the rocket. We had to show our boarding passes to Miss Montgomery who stamped them before we were permitted to enter the rocket, take a seat and get our seatbelts on. ππ
The journey to the moon didn’t seem long at all, as we were all so busy looking out the window at the stars and planets and singing different songs such as the “Lift off counting song” and “Twinkle, twinkle little star.”πππ
When we eventually landed on the moon we played a game of “Pass the Moon rock” and listened to a story “How to catch a star” by Oliver Jeffers which we really enjoyed. Miss Montgomery had just finished the story when we had an unexpected visitor…Sparkles the unicorn arrived and she brought us some glow sticks! π€©π¦
