Primary 5 have started to learn about angles as degrees of turn. We discovered that a quarter turn is the same as
90° and that we can use the terms clockwise and anticlockwise to tell us which direction to turn. We used paths on the playground to practise making turns. As we moved along the path with our partner we recorded the number of steps to take and how to turn. When we got to the end, we swapped with another group and used their instructions to check they worked. Everyone did a great job and enjoyed being outside instead of in the classroom.
