P5 are learning about Ancient Egypt and this afternoon we mummified tomatoes! We learned all about the mummification process and then carefully recreated the process using tomatoes, salt, bicarbonate of soda and antibacterial gel. We will be checking on the progress of our tomatoes over the next 10 weeks, because it took approximately 70 days for the Ancient Egyptians to mummify a person. To make sure it is a fair test, we have a control tomato that has not been touched. We have predicted what will happen to the control and mummified tomatoes and we are so excited to see what happens!
